Hmmmm....does Isella remind you of anyone? LOL
Nuts-n-Bolts
1. Thank you for your questions, ideas, thoughts and suggestions around the incident that took place on Tuesday. While it is awful, scary, and disappointing we will be better because of it. We learned that we need to teach students how to report unsafe situations. Carina and I learned what to do from the police if this situation should arise again. We had hard but good conversations with students and their parents and we were able to talk as a staff. Thank you!
2. Vision and Hearing test will be next week on Thursday, April 21st between 9-12. This is a district wide approach where HRAs and nurses travel to the schools so the process is quick and efficient. Sara Huxoll will be sending out information early next week. It mostly likely will be 6th @ 9:00, 7th @ 10:00 and 8th @ 11:00. This will take place in the gym. Again, Sara will send out information to staff.
3. Thank you to Steve for our SBA training yesterday. Please, please, please look over your binder and ask questions EARLY.
4. We will have visitors in the building tomorrow @ 10:15. Dr. Smith along with two Board members will be walking through classrooms. The Board misses being out in schools.
Something to Ponder
Snitching vs. Reporting -a good way to define the two AND how to explain it to students.
The focus is bullying in Fabian Ramirez's assemblies but he does touch upon violence. Bullying ties directly back to why students don't want to report. I watched a couple of his advertisements he is funny! He conducts virtual assemblies. Might be something to consider.

Little Humor
One of my favorite songs "Don't Stop Believing" sung by Jimmy Fallon accompanied by Will Ferrell aka the Heckler! Thank you, Steve, for sharing this. :D
