Nuts-n-Bolts
1. Health Center-Take at look at this! The Health Center is making an impact! Yes, we do have some frequent fliers. However, we could not have served students in this capacity without the HC.
2. Summer Cleaning and Classrooms- Stephanie will send out a form, checklist to complete before leaving on Friday the 14th.
For summer Cleaning:
- Counters are cleaned off
- Your teaching station is clean, easily accessible and files are backed up
- Materials are put away so custodians can easily and efficiently clean
- Things on your walls can stay
- Personal items locked up in your cupboards or taken home
The custodians are going to do the best they can. It is a short turn around, as you know. They will begin the week after school is out. Certificated staff-you will need to stay out of the building until the beginning of August-darn :)
3. We're currently serving more than 300 individuals for B.A.B.! Director Foster acknowledged Garrison for the seamless implementation at our school. This is because of YOU! Your dedication is truly appreciated, especially considering the adjustments and interruptions to your morning routine. Thank you for your flexibility! Parents have expressed their gratitude for the implementation.
4. Activity Day- the older I get the softer I get- literally and figuratively 😅. We decided as a staff to combine the iReady and Activity Day which I threw out as a suggestion. Reflecting, I feel a twinge of guilt that some 6th and 7th graders ( I don't feel guilty about 8th grade because they have recognition, activity day, etc next week) may not get the activity day which traditionally all students got to participate in regardless of iReady. SO, tomorrow at 2:40 6th and 7th grade students in iReady classrooms will be released to participate in Activity day. NOT THE DANCE but all other activities. We have the lists and people at the gym doors to monitor and supervise. 8th graders need to stay the entire time to complete their lessons.
5. Carrie LaRoy sent this out in regards to AI. Register here for FREE

Something to Ponder
The Seniors visiting yesterday is always so wonderful! In Kim Endres' words, "My favorite day of the year!"
As the WA HI students were getting on the bus to leave, I was making my way inside when I noticed two Lincoln students in their cap and gowns. My stomach tightened, and a wave of emotion swept over me. Approaching them, I inquired if they were awaiting transportation. "Yes, we were told 11:00, and we missed it," they replied. Sensing their disappointment and my heart aching for them, I offered to give them a tour and visit specific teachers.
Their request included stops to see Charlie, Roger, Sean, Brian C, Mike Bertram, and Conor. During our walk, Alex Roe shared, "I wasn't the best student in Mr. Fish's class. I think I fell asleep four times." In response, I assured them both that they had left a lasting impact on us, and we were deeply appreciative of their presence, as well as that of the returning seniors from Washington High who genuinely relished reconnecting with YOU!
The years spent in middle school hold profound significance, and our efforts truly make a difference! I wholeheartedly believe that when our students return as seniors, proudly walking the halls in their caps and gowns, they will recall the care we showed, the accountability we instilled, the encouragement we provided, and the support we offered during challenging times. It's important to remember that while you may not always see the immediate impact you're making on students, when they return, both they and you will recognize the lasting influence you've had!
